Blandwood Mansion is located in downtown Greensboro, and exists as one of the oldest examples of Italianate architecture in the United States (dating back to the mid-1800s). The gardens are open for touring, and many of the original furnishings are still held within the house.

Guilford Courthouse National Military Park marks the location of one of the largest battles of the Revolutionary War. Annually, on March 15, the anniversary of the battle is observed. Activities encouraged within the park include wildlife viewing, biking and auto touring.
